A Business bio of the author of this web site:

Diane M. Hoffmann, has been in business for over thirty years as a small business owner/operator as well as an employee/contract worker in larger corporations.

Her first business, by the age of twenty-five, was one of the most successful sailboat dealership and marine equipment business in Southern Ontario which she operated for seven years in the seventies, with her partner/husband. After closing down this business and selling the marine canvas products/boat interiors division, Diane and her husband spent some time in British Columbia and returned to operate a leased restaurant for a short time.

After this, Diane sold personal and business improvement programs and took on temporary assignments with agencies. This led into freelance marketing services that developed into a graphics design and production operation for several years. In the recession of the early nineties, she was forced to close down the business when her husband was laid off through a company merger and her business was not yet strong enough to pick up the mortgage that simultaneously became due that year on the business/home property.

She again joined the contract workforce that kept her busy in various industrial and corporate businesses. It was during this time that she began to put together this book with data and information gathered over the last thirty years.

Diane has written and delivered various seminars in business start-up, management and communication over the years, through businesses, community groups, Boards of Trade, Boards of Education, the Federal Business Development Bank and local charitable groups and churches.

Moved to Campbell River in December 2001, Diane Hoffmann now offers marketing and management services, organizational strategies for small business and seminars as well as the production and publishing of specialized books under Hoffmann-Rondeau Communications Inc.
